How do I purchase this zine?

From October 16 to 23, Phantasmagoria will be sold on our itch.io for those who choose to partake in our Early Bird order period - at the low cost of $5 USD.Starting October 31st, the zine will be pay what you wish and made available to the rest of the public.

Why $5?

Since this project is otherwise free, we hope to raise around $200 USD via tips and donations in order to cover merchandise (stickers, stickersheets, etc.) for all of our contributors as our form of gratitude. The early sales period will hopefully help us reach this goal! Any extra funds will go to affording more physical products for the team.After Early Bird sales end, this anthology will be free for all prospective customers, and individual pieces will be posted to the public.

We're just a bunch of friends and artists who came together to make fancontent for quirky indie pixel games about depression.

I want to join the zine!

Sorry! Our artists were already invited at the beginning of 2022, prior to the public launch of Phantasmagoria; we have always intended to keep it contained to people we know and/or have worked with in the past.
Don't lose hope, though! There may be other zines out there that will surely have contributor applications open.

How were the games picked out?

Contributors were given free reign to work on a game of their choosing, with diversity in the game picks heavily encouraged (see our list here). We generally tried to keep to the following: RPGMaker / WolfRPG games, indie pixel RPGs, and RPG horror.There may be a few exceptions here and there, however. The artist might have just really, really, really wanted to draw a game that didn't quite fit the criteria and we were lenient enough to let it pass.As the project was invitation only, there were no waitlist or pinch hitter positions to fill in games that were dropped over the course of the creation period, which may explain a few missing names. Additionally, NSFW games were ruled out from the zine altogether. Regardless, we hope that this project is enjoyable as is!

Hello, I'm Angela! Since 2017, I've successfully led multiple physical and digital zines, including Drop Dead Despair and the Gorillaz Fanthology. I worked on I am the MASTERMIND! as the finance mod and SHOWTIME as creative management.
